АНАЛІЗ ОСОБЛИВОСТЕЙ РАДІООБМІНУ В НЕСТАНДАРТНИХ СИТУАЦІЯХ

Анотація

У статті розглянуто особливості радіообміну у нестандартних ситуаціях. З’ясовано зміст поняття «авіаційна пригода», «загальна зміна мовного коду», проаналізовано статистику авіакатастроф, причиною яких став мовний фактор. Виокремлено психологічний компонент, що реалізується у використанні емоційно забарвлених речень (перепитування, повтори, тональність комунікації,
використання вигуків, іронія у висловлюваннях). Виявлено відсоткове значення емоційно забарвлених синтагм у нестандартних ситуаціях на основі вибіркового методу. Проаналізовано, що перехід від стандартної фразеології на звичайну англійську мову зумовлене прагматичними аспектами. Мова в цьому разі вирішує складне комунікативне завдання – обмін інформацією, а тому кожне слово контексту характеризується певною семантикою. Використання вигуків або повторів, тональності та іронії у висловлюваннях не повинно перешкоджати ефективності комунікації.

The article deals with the specific features of radiotelephony interaction between an air traffic controller and flight crew in the light of the twofold nature of communication in non-standard emergency situations. A sample survey was used in the article. Authentic episodes were chosen for the radio exchange analysis. The authentic episodes dealt with different emergency situations and induced air traffic controllers and flight crew members to use emotive sentences in the aviation context during
radio exchange. It is shown that emotive sentences (questioning, repetition, tone of communication, exclamations, irony in statements) make approximately 50 % of the radiotelephony language discourse. This analysis of authentic exchanges between air traffic controllers and flight crew showed that the psychological component is presented by emotive sentences and plays an
integral part of radiotelephony communication. The previous analysis of authentic exchanges between air traffic controllers and flight crew clearly showed that the ICAO standardized phraseology is used in all cases where it is required. Only when standardized phraseology cannot be used for the purpose of effective communication the plain English language is applied. The episodes have been analyzed according to the criteria of evident quantity of standard phraseology clusters and plain English lexis used simultaneously in the exchanges with a purpose to achieve success in communication. Therefore two
English ‘sublanguages’ are used in a proportion 5/1 (or 80 % – phraseology; 20 % plain English). They are usually used together in a single session in non-routine situations. It should be noted that code-switching is a common phenomenon of language use referring to the alternation between two or more languages, dialects or registers in a single conversation (or even a single utterance within a conversation) involving users who have more than one language in common. Pilots and controllers
share two distinct registers of language for the purposes of radiotelephony communications – standardized phraseology and plain language. Сode-switching is strongly present in radiotelephony communications, as pilots and controllers make alternating use of standardized phraseology and plain language. On the basis of analysis, it is shown that the standard phraseology cannot completely foresee actions in emergency situations.
